Club Permit renewal

How to renew your club permit or to extend or change the period of use for your club permit.

The renewal process is proving more difficult than it should be.  Read these instructions carefully.  About four weeks before your permit expires, VicRoads sends out a Club Permit "Renewal" notice to your nominated postal address.  For those with an online VicRoads account they also send a push notification alert.  The postal address P.O. Box 1 Mooroopna 3629 is very important reducing chances of errors and increases efficiency.

You can renew your permit for a period of either 45 or 90 days, depending on your current permit period.  If your existing permit has expired, you can’t drive the vehicle until you’ve got your renewal receipt.  When you are ready to renew your permit, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Sign your renewal notice and get club endorsement.

You will need to sign the renewal notice where it says “Signature of permit holder.”  Then the renewal needs to be endorsed by the approved club secretary confirming you’re a member of the club.

If you have not nominated the club’s address as your postal address, i.e. P.O. Box 1 Mooroopna 3629, and you can’t post the renewal to that address and you can’t have your renewal notice endorsed in person.  The club secretary can sign a Club Permit endorsement form.  An edorsement is a digitally generated PDF, totally different than a Club Permit renewal.

Take a photo of the renewal and email that picture to the club secretary.  A completed and signed endorsement form will be emailed back in due course.

Step 2: Submit your signed documents and pay.

The easiest way to renew your permit is through your myVicRoads account.  If you don’t have one, you can create an account.

You will need to submit either:

  • a signed and endorsed renewal notice, or
  • a signed renewal notice and the completed Club Permit endorsement form signed by your club official.

Once you've logged in to your my VicRoads account, you'll be able to see your club permit vehicle.  If you can’t see your vehicle in your account, call the VicRoads contact centre 131171 to have it linked.

An online renewal will take VicRoads around three to five business days to process.  A receipt will be emailed once your renewal has been processed.  This is your proof of payment and confirms that your permit is valid.

If you can’t renew online. You can visit a VicRoads Customer Service Centre to submit your renewal and pay for your permit.

Note: If the club permit is in the name of a company or organisation, you can only renew it at a VicRoads Customer Service Centre.

To extend or change the period of use, you can call a VicRoads contact centre on 131171 or visit a VicRoads Customer Service Centre.
